FOG FOCUS: Claire Oswalt Booth 506 https://www.fogfair.com/

For FOG Design+Art 2026, Rebecca Camacho Presents is pleased to share new work by Austin-based gallery artist Claire Oswalt in FOG FOCUS, Booth 506.

Informed by a wide range of sources, including the natural world, literature, quantum physics, and music, Oswalt’s newest sewn acrylic paintings and works on paper continue her investigation of the processes and systems that order contemporary daily life.

Expanding her layered and lyrical abstractions to include geometric passageways and grids, Oswalt plays with the balances between lightness and density, stillness and movement. A recurring series of symbols, elemental to Oswalt’s practice for a decade, appear and reappear, touchstones from piece to piece. The symbols are akin to language or musical notes but are also neither nor, they fill their own space and meaning, a personal vocabulary of marks and gestures.

Oswalt debuts a suite of 14 collaged studies shown in three rows, framed as a single work. This reimagining of presentation offers an encyclopedic experience of an entire series simultaneously, creating an aerial view of a body of work that is analogous to the atmospheric aesthetic of the paintings themselves.
