Jane Margarette (b. 1985, San Diego CA) lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Margarette’s elaborate wallbased ceramic reliefs often feature butterflies, bats, and birds.
She received her BFA in ceramics from California State University, Long Beach in 2016 and her MFA in ceramics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2020. She has had solo exhibitions at Ruttkowski;68, Paris, France (2023); Anat Ebgi Gallery, Los Angeles CA (2023, 2022); 1969 Gallery, New York NY (2022); and the Lainer Gallery, Margo Levin Graduate Art Studios, Los Angeles CA (2021).
Her work has been included in group exhibitions at Anat Ebgi Gallery, New York NY (2024); ICA Los Angeles, Los Angeles CA (2023); Sargent’s Daughters, Los Angeles CA (2023); Ruttkowski;68, New York NY (2023); and Moskowitz Bayse, Los Angeles CA (2022); amongst others. Margarette’s work is in the public collections of the Grand Rapids Art Museum, Grand Rapids MI; the Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento CA; and the Beth De Woody Collection, Miami FL.
